GearDex Privacy Policy

GearDex is a vehicle management app for tracking vehicles, maintenance, fuel, expenses, trips, parking, documents, and driving routes.

Data Stored On Your Device

GearDex stores vehicle records, fuel logs, service logs, expenses, trips, reminders, parking spots, route notes, reviews, marketplace/watchlist items, service shop favorites, and document metadata locally on your device using an app database.

Files or photos added to the digital glovebox are stored locally on your device. GearDex does not sell this information or share it with advertisers.

Camera And OCR

GearDex may request camera access when you take a vehicle photo, scan a receipt, or add a document photo. Receipt scanning uses on-device text recognition. Images are processed on the device and are not uploaded for OCR processing.

Location

GearDex may request approximate or precise location access for features such as saving a parking spot or opening route/navigation workflows. Location is used only for the feature you request and is not shared with third parties by GearDex.

Notifications

GearDex may request notification permission to send maintenance reminders, parking meter alerts, and other app reminders that you enable.

Optional Cloud Sync

GearDex includes optional Firebase-based sign-in and cloud sync when configured and enabled. If you choose to sign in and sync, account information and app records needed for synchronization may be sent to Firebase/Google services. Cloud sync is user-initiated and can be avoided by using the app offline.

Third-Party Services

GearDex may use Firebase Authentication, Firebase Firestore, Google Sign-In, ML Kit text recognition, and Android platform services. These services are governed by their own privacy practices.

Data Deletion

You can delete records inside the app. If cloud sync is enabled and you want cloud account data deleted, contact the developer using the email below.
